  2. 2026-08-26 · reported cancelled

Amazon Data Services Inc. formally withdrew its Calvert Technology Center Conceptual Site Development Plan application and decided not to pursue the proposed data center project in Calvert County. Calvert County Government announced the withdrawal in an Aug. 4, 2026 press release; the county's data center page now records the application as withdrawn and states no site plan applications for data center development are pending. The withdrawal followed voter backlash in the county's June 23, 2026 primary, and the county subsequently passed a six-month moratorium on data center site plan approvals effective Aug. 28, 2026.
