Colocation facility DC BLOX has operated at this site since 2017; the Times Free Press calls the 9,000 sq ft windowless building the city's largest data center. DC BLOX vice president Bill Thomson states its maximum power capacity is 1 megawatt and it typically runs at about 20% of that, and that this capacity is not enough to run AI servers — hence aiClassification mixed_use rather than likely. The 1 MW figure is recorded as capacityMw.planned because it is a maximum rating, not a measured operating load. CONFIRMED ABSENCES from the same interview (2026-08-23): the site was zoned for light industry and did not require data-center-specific permitting, and DC BLOX has no plans to expand its Chattanooga footprint; its AI-oriented builds are elsewhere in the region. Hamilton County's one-year data-center moratorium covers only unincorporated parts of the county, so it does not reach this site. Coordinates are a geocode of the street address.
