What the source record says
Retrofit of a former Walmart Supercenter in Fairfield into a colocation data center. WBRC states: "Patmos would bring around 50 long-term jobs, plus roughly 120 construction workers during the build" and "If approved, construction could start in September, with the first phase completed by January or February 2027 and a larger expansion planned for 2028." CAPACITY AND INVESTMENT DELIBERATELY OMITTED — WBRC explicitly does not disclose either; an aggregator (servercountry.org) lists a "Fairfield Colocation Data Center" at 45 MW, which is NOT verified here and not cited. COORDINATES ARE THE FAIRFIELD MUNICIPAL CENTROID, not the building: the source identifies the site only as "the former Walmart Supercenter", no street address, and an Overpass query over the Fairfield bounding box returned no Walmart-named or former-retail building in OSM. Tighten this before mapping. STATUS is "proposed" — construction was conditional on approval as of 13 Aug 2026; if the September 2026 groundbreaking happened, this should move to under_construction, which is worth re-checking since that date has now passed. This is a genuinely distinct site from qts-marvel-bessemer-al (different operator, different city) though both sit in the same Birmingham-west corridor.
Any MW value is reproduced as source-reported context. Its measurement boundary is not established consistently enough for comparison. Unknown is not zero.
