What the source record says

Status is "proposed", not "cancelled": Holyoke's City Council voted 9-4 on 2026-06-17 to ban AI data centers above 12 MW, which would bar this 20 MW project as designed, but the developer stated "We're not closing the door - and we hope Holyoke won't either" and had neither filed permits nor bought the property. The coordinate is the OSM-mapped former Hampden Paper Co building at the cited address, marked approximate because the proposal covers the wider complex. The 20 MW is the developer's stated figure; $200M is the reported project cost for this site only. Holyoke's ban explicitly exempts the tracked MGHPCC.

Capacity is not ranked or totaled here.

Any MW value is reproduced as source-reported context. Its measurement boundary is not established consistently enough for comparison. Unknown is not zero.

Status history supplied by the source

  1. 2026-06-16 · reported proposed

Boston-based Chestnut River Power and Infrastructure publicly sought the former Hampden Papers complex at 100 Water Street for a 20-megawatt "micro facility"; WAMC reports no permits filed and no property purchased at that point.
